When we came up with first part of this arrangement we were so excited that we initially wanted to do a whole set of thrash Floyd songs and call ourselves Punk Floyd.
The recording came when Bernie Mack, educator at Tribeca Flashpoint Academy in Chicago, asked us to play for his class.
This take was just a last minute thing. We had spent most of the session trying to record a different song that never actually made it onto any album. There was like 10 minutes left on the session, so we randomly pulled this one off the shelf and gave it a go.
The non-punk section was just a giant freestyle. The vocals and parts of the guitar were done in overdubs, but a lot of this take was all four of us jamming our asses off in the studio.
lyrics
We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
